WOMEN THEOLOGIANS TRAINING ON SRHR AND GBV

 

On 16th December, 2022 The Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians trained 30 Women doing theology at Kacyiru Sector, Gasabo District on SRHR and GBV. The training was conducted and facilitated by KABERA Telesphore. The facilitator aimed at enhancing women theologians’ knowledge on sexual reproductive health, rights and sexual gender based violence. The following was the Agenda of the day

 

The facilitator started with brainstorming the participant’s expectations which were mostly to have the knowledge on SRH and their role as theologians in empowering women to fight against GBV and stand in solidarity with the victims of GBV.

 

 

 

 

The trainer introduced SRH to the participants and indicated why to have knowledge of SRH is very important as women pastors in various corners. Moreover, to understand SRH with Intersectionality lens in order to help youth with compounded vulnerabilities.

The participants also were encouraged to have safe spaces in their places for teenagers in order to listen to them when they are free to talk.

The participants were informed about GBV, the types of GBV and its consequences to the family, community and society at large.

To conclude the training, the participants committed themselves to do advocacy for people with multiple vulnerabilities especially youth. And moreover to open up and speak issues related to SRHR in there are of working.
